  1. CannaeMan says:

Unsure what history books they consulted, but the legions were not manned by conquered peoples, slaves or freed men. Auxiliary units were different, but the 9th Legion was emphatically NOT an auxiliary unit. Shameful revisionism like this is what fuels Afrocentric babble.

So I’ve seen some questions about when this is getting released in theatres but I’ve yet to see anyone talking about that it’s getting an early VOD window.

The official site has the info:

Says Xbox, on Demand on July 30. Sweet!

    English didn’t exist back then!

What’s up with Hollywood trying to change history?

Btw, I think it’s interesting that the so called champions of history only complain when a black character is involved, but never when something even more egregious like the English language is involved. Or not to mention the countless other roles that have taken middle easterners or Egyptians and had them played by English. Or why doesn’t anyone care that British actors always portray the Romans? Britains and Romans didn’t really look alike.

Also, there were black people in the Roman Empire and there were definitely black people in the legions and in the auxiliary forces. But there wasn’t an English language so all the closet racists on IMDB can go die.
